The movement of which Antifa, commies, Democrats, etc. all belong isn’t anymore essentially Left than its opponents are Nazis. The essence of the movement to which these groups belong–what they have in common–is a hatred of three things:
1) Christianity
2) Men
3) Whites
The order of hatred depends on with which faction of the movement one deals, but the three are essential. For example: Feminism hates men first, then Christianity, then whites. Black Lives Matter orders it Whites, Christianity, then men, I think. Sometimes, as in the case of Antifa, more than one plank is of equal weight. Antifa hates America as a whole because it recognizes that America is fundamentally a work of white Christian men.
It’s not autonomous vs. totalitarian, nor is it globalists vs. nationalists, nor is it politically correct speech vs. free speech. They are not FOR anything in particular. They exist to be AGAINST things. Specifically, they are against
1) Christianity
2) Men
3) Whites
Some are fine–and even for–capitalism in China, India, wherever–as long as the benefits are not for Christian white men. They love to welcome Muslim mid-easterners, but the Christian mid-easterners are served right to be killed and exiled. There is no rhyme or reason to these affiliated groups except what they are against. Leftism has nothing to do with this movement.
They don’t know or care what Left means.
They don’t know or care what Nazi means.
They don’t know or care what Globalism means.
They don’t know or care what Right means.
They don’t know or care what Fascist means.
They don’t know or care what Nationalism means.
They don’t know or care what Communist means.
The words, to them, contain no meaning whatsoever. Those things are just words that dead white oppressors made up to separate the real people of color from each other and their belongings. They appropriate and use these terms as various forms of subversive weaponry: dog whistles, cloaks, and diversions.
Most people, people who describe themselves as Conservative, or even merely “normal” just don’t accept what they actually see. And the self-styled Conservative press are trained to look for ideological underpinnings and try to perceive the “end game”. There aren’t any. It’s just envy and hatred. The average American refuses to believe that and so they theorize imaginary ideologies and end games for BLM, Antifa, Feminists, and so forth.
Envy and hate aren’t ideological points. They are of the spiritual realm. It’s a spiritual war; not an ideological war, nor an ethnic war.
Things that We have Heard and Known 
I think you are right in this. I think the same was probably true for Mao’s Red Guards. They were thugs consumed with hatred and envy, looking for their next victim. Mao and Stalin delighted in terrorizing hundreds of millions; this was who they were, and in this sense Marxism was irrelevant. Yet there was an ideological component.

I agree, but the ideology is also mostly irrelevant. That’s important because right now a lot of well-meaning people are fighting an ideological war against a spiritual foe.
What I mean is: Average Joe is out there trying to organize his life and business to protect it from commies; say with Affirmative Action hires to protect his business from excessive taxes or defamation in the media; even though those hires are bad investments. Joe’s problem isn’t actually commies in gov’t or their ideology. He’s not subjected to commie manifestos. Joe’s problem is an anti-white, anti-Christian, anti-male protection racket. We know that because if Joe hires a muslim, woman, or black then the “problems” disappear; commie or no.

Another way to think about it is that we recognize that the ideologies were invented to give structure and cover to the evils of envy and hate. Chop down one ideology and another grows in its place. We have to salt that earth itself.
Thanks Cane. Consciously realizing that the ideologies are mere rationalizations for a person’s or people’s hatred is a huge help in how to deal with the damaged souls and spiritual warfare around us.

And yet. She’s married, and as far as I can tell still in the Gospel, with her husband. Rightists make fun of leftists because they sabotage their ideals with their low birthrates, but it can go the other way too—they can sabotage their ideological aims with their (good) actions in practice.
Driving today, it occurred to me that the real victories aren’t this or that rally or law or court ruling. The real victories are temptations avoided, charities exercised, obedience freely given. And the real tragedies are temptations succumbed to, the needy scorned, rebellion given free rein. The things we see on the news are just the effects of the former, a few steps removed.
First, the left hasn’t gone away. It is as marxist as ever. Conservatives don’t see antifa as left because conservatives aren’t far removed from leftists. The left is an umbrella of special interest groups that are coordinated by The Nation. It gins up hate and class warfare to advance its objectives. You misunderstand that the hate is necessarily innate. Surely, it will enfold groups with innate hatred into its umbrella if it sees a strategic advantage in doing so.
Second, conservatives don’t understand what is going on because they haven’t studied the left and it’s tactics. The left is trying to brand its opponents as Nazis–never mind that their opponents actually aren’t Nazis. The left is attempting to gin up hate. The solution is to accept the brand and laugh at the leftists. The leftists have been trying to agitate to get opponents that will generate violence and use that as part of their branding operation. The left was trying to get white nationalists to harm leftists to show that ALL of the left’s opponents are violent Nazis.
