My SSD is either dead or injured. I’ll know more later. After it’s fixed I can start posting again.
Pro tip to Mac users: If you try to save a file in Texteditor and it tells you that the file cannot be saved, do not reboot. The program is fine. It’s the filepath that is corrupt, and that could be a symptom of a larger problem.
Either there is a filesystem format error (things like file tags pointing to nonexistent areas), or the SSD didn’t properly fix a worn out section
https://www.grc.com/sr/spinrite.htm is the goto utility for the lower level analysis and fixing (use level 2 for SSDs).
Downside of SSDs is this type of failure.
Picked up an Intel drive to avoid this, so far so good.
