They Know How to Follow

In a comment on Dalrock’s post “Feminine Wiles” I wrote:

A woman who is strongly attracted to a man will look for ways to please him; without any prompting on his part, and no matter what the consequences.

What I should have wrote was: A woman who has set her mind on a man will look for ways to please him; without any prompting on his part, and no matter what the consequences.

It is often the case that a woman chooses a man to whom she is not “strongly” attracted, but for unattractive reasons: wealth, security, etc.; in other words for the Beta Bucks. Either way to get what she wants she will follow him around…often literally.

This is what a man wants from a wife. It is what a wife is. That is why a woman is tempted to stop following and rebel after she marries.

  1. This is how my wife did it. I remember saying that I felt like I had been adopted by a lost puppy. Anyone who has even been adopted by a lost puppy will know that that is not at all a bad thing.

  2. That is why a woman is tempted to stop following and rebel after she marries.

    Cane,

You and I have talked about that before, but I don’t see a lot of recognition of that dynamic in the Christian men’s sphere. Could you elaborate on that in a future post?

  3. Setting your mind on your husband makes perfect sense, Cane Caldo.

After all Father Yahweh does bring perfect peace to those whose MIND is set upon Him. (Isaiah 26:3).

If a woman wants perfect peace she needs to get her head on straight and focus on her man and his direction for HER and the family.

    Word.

  4. Some years ago, when my brother got married, a pretty, but not gorgeous, young woman from my congregation, who was also a friend of the bride, attended the wedding reception and, oh my, who was she to talk to at this event where she knew no one but me? Well.

Since I was a dysfunctional person and knew it, and knew that she deserved better than Lame Me, and Cool Me, were he ever to reappear, could do better than her, I proceeded to bore her to tears talking about a programming language. I then went and hid in a classroom in the church for 20-30 minutes.

Some months later, she met a young man a few years her junior and they are happily married.

I am of the opinion that the story of Wise Jessica should be taught to every young girl.
